It's Time For Independent Artists to... Bee Found, Bee Seen And Bee Heard.
As full time artists here on GiGhive, our primary focus is is to provide networking resources to the everyday independent artists of all types. The only way we can achieve this goal is to build a conduit to professional peers within our own niche community.
We have two choices as independent artists. Either we wake up one morning and decide to follow the rules i.e. signup to facebook, twitter and the millions of others that have done so before us or we 'wake up' and decide to change the rules.
We feel it should be our jobs as independent artists, to find solutions to drive traffic and resources to artists web sites scattered across the web, than to services such as facebook, myspace, twitter etc; which monetizes traffic created by artists promotional hard work. Many artists see very little in return for their efforts.
It's time we change these rules... It's time to rewrite the rules... it's time we power our own community. Not empower communities where artists are just one group in the crowd of many.
The Directory is only the first step as we continue to build the network. The second is our independent artist web site initiative to get more artists to realize the importance of web site ownership opposed to following the crowd.
